Ihab Ayoub was a devoted son who followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, contributing to their solemn duty of grave digging. Their family was entrusted with the care of the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Beit Lahia, in the northern Gaza Strip, a sacred task that they carried out with reverence.
Tragically, while Ihab and two relatives were preparing final resting places for new martyrs, they themselves fell victim to the Israeli occupation’s rockets. In a profound twist of fate, they were laid to rest in the very graves they were digging, uniting them eternally with the land and cause they served.
